1992 Honda Prelude cluster repair. Some of my work notes of this repair. Lucky we caught this just in time, before any irreversible damage was done. Tacho, speedo and clock now all work as they should bringing this massive, 1.2m wide cluster back to life.

Audi TT instrument cluster display repair.

Toyota Aygo instrument repair. Indicator LEDs replaced. This is a perfect example of extreme cost curring by manufacturers which will imcrease repair costs to the end user. Toyota (or PSA) decided to integrate the body module with the instrument cluster. They prob saved a few euros in wiring. BUT if either the cluster of the body module were to fail, both would need to be replaced together at a substantially higher cost than if they were seperate units. Not to mention that this repair took more than twice as long as it would with a “normal” cluster.

Good morning. Some ecus still need to be opened up and “boot” tuned, even though most modern ecus can be OBD or bench tuned.

My current view, Let’s see if we get this running…..

Back to when VW build quality was something else. Def better than the crap all manufacturers are now building. VW Bora 1.9l tdi 110hp/235nm ➡️ 145hp/290nm Audi TT 8n 225hp/280nm ➡️ 280hp/400nm with hardware upgrades.

Mercedes A180 122hp/200nm ➡️ 165hp/300nm These JDM (never thought i’d use that anagram. 🤣) Mercs really come alive with our stage 1 tunes, from a sluggish, uninspiring power curve, these transform into a punchy, torquey power curve. The extra 100nm of midrange torque makes that much of a difference.

Mercedes W205 220cdi. Stage 1 + NOX Solution. These are also known to have issues with the NOX sensors, which is an expensive “fix” often failing again within a short period of time. 170hp/400nm ➡️ 220hp/500nm

When the damage is so small that it’s only visible under a microscope.

BMW 220d in for stage 1 ecu and stage 3 tcu tunes. 190hp/380nm ➡️ 220hp/440nm Stage 3 t u tune sharpens the gearbox ip significantly, shifting gears much quicker, increases clutch pressure (helps reduce clutch wear) and modifies shift points.
